Periodic tests and examinations are necessary to assess the academic performance of students. They also promote healthy competition, helping students become aware of shortcomings in their study habits. Based on these principles, we conduct monthly tests, pre mid-term, mid-term, post mid-term and annual examinations. A student must not absent himself from any of these evaluations. In case of an emergency, one of the parents should submit a leave letter in person to the Principal. In case of sickness, a medical certificate should also be submitted on return.
- 50% in each subject is the minimum marks for promotion.
- Absence in an examination is treated as securing 0 in that subject or paper. No separate examination will be conducted in any subject.
- Silence should be maintained in the examination hall. Students are forbidden to have any form of conversation or communication in the examination hall. They should not lend or borrow anything.
- Any kind of malpractice in the tests, attempted or intended by any student, is punishable with suspension or expulsion, according to the gravity of the offence.
- Parents are to come on the appointed day to consult the subject teachers, find out defects and mistakes committed by their children in their answer sheets, and sign the progress report — failing which their wards will not be admitted to class.
- The norms of promotion are fixed by the Principal. Promotion depends on the marks scored in the tests and the examinations, and also on internal assessment based on factors such as attendance, home work, class work, composition and general discipline.
- 90% attendance is mandatory for promotion.
- Students who could not secure promotion may be asked to leave the school. The decision of the Principal will be final in this matter.
Progress cards
- An achievement card will be issued after every terminal evaluation.
- No rank will be noted in the achievement card. Instead, students are graded on the basis of their performance and academic proficiency.
- Parents are requested to come and sign the achievement card after every terminal evaluation.
